Timber Frame Buildings & Structures

I work with a close friend and timber framer, Jaime Ward of JamCo Design, to offer larger timber buildings and structures.  We are delighted to offer a timber framing service for Yorkshire, Peak District, Derbyshire and surrounding areas.

Jaime has worked on many exciting projects that have featured on the BBC and Channel 4’s Grand Designs.  He has also acted as timber conservator to the Antarctic Heritage Trust, and has spent several seasons maintaining Scott's Antarctic huts. Jaime runs his business from Somerset but travels nationwide to provide his services.

The timber framing work that we offer is generally in ‘Green Oak’ - we have built garden rooms, garden studios, garden structures and shelters, garages and small extensions. Glazed timber-framed buildings are something that we are delighted to offer.

Our timber framing uses traditional carpentry skills but a contemporary feel is usually created through the use of complimentary materials and careful design, therefore our work sits comfortably in many different situations.

Design, Drawings and Engineering

We are able to offer a full design service, however, detailed drawings and estimates are chargeable due to the considerable investment in time required. Where engineering calculations are required for the planning authorities we use a specialist structural engineer and charge for this service.

If your thinking is at an early stage we would be able to provide a free, and reasonably accurate, ‘ball park’ quotation for your consideration before progressing further with a chargeable design.

Depending on the project the timber framing may be offered by JamCo Design or CIDA Wood Design Limited, but you would receive the close involvement of myself and Jaime Ward throughout.
