Ordering
My work is made to order. I will provide you with a no-obligation quote - I may need to meet you at your house to take measurements to do this. This service is free of charge unless otherwise stated. I will also provide an estimate for when I can complete the work. My quotations are fully inclusive and if there are any chargeable options these will be noted.

Payment
When a commission has been agreed I will issue an invoice, normally for 50% of the cost of the work. The balance will be paid upon delivery of the work against a final invoice. A variable deposit and stage payments are used when commissioning larger value items such as kitchens and timber frame buildings. Payments will be discussed with you at the time.

I can accept BACS payments. At the workshop I am able to use a card reader to take payment by debit and most credit cards - but cards cannot be taken over the phone. I prefer not to accept cheques or cash, but I will take these methods of payment if necessary.

The Small Print
An order cannot be cancelled once the work has begun. If it is necessary to cancel an order this needs to be done in writing and will incur a cost that indemnifies CIDA Wood Design Limited against loss.

I will try to accommodate alterations, but once work has started this may not always be possible.

All of my work is unique and while I will always select the best timber available, and with the needs of the client in mind, however it is still possible for there to be small defects, knots and minor differences in colour, grain or markings on the wood – if you have very particular requirements please discuss this at the outset.

The Life of Your Product
It should be noted that wood can shrink or expand at any stage depending on the atmospheric conditions where it will be used. This is natural and is not something that CIDA Wood Design Ltd can prevent - although saying that I will always do my best to assist if any problems do arise.
Wood should be maintained – that is usually a very simple process and I always discuss maintenance with my clients. It is important that the product is kept in relatively stable conditions and the wood will then generally adjust to the place where it is being used.
Wood does not like to be used directly against radiators or directly above underfloor heating. This should be borne in mind and the particular location and specifics on moisture / heat should be discussed at the time of commissioning.
